General Knowledge Test

The Florida Department of Education's General Knowledge Test is part of the Florida Teacher Certification Examinations (FTCE). It's designed to ensure that teacher candidates have the foundational skills necessary for effective instruction. The test assesses competencies in four areas:

1. Essay Writing: Evaluates your ability to communicate effectively in written form.
2. English Language Skills: Tests grammar, vocabulary, and sentence structure.
3. Reading: Measures comprehension and analysis of written material.
4. Mathematics: Covers basic math skills, including algebra, geometry, and data interpretation.

Passing this test is one of the pathways to demonstrate mastery of general knowledge, which is a requirement for teacher certification in Florida. Check out our downloads below.
